Less Than Two Months Away

     Our trip to Chile is less than two months away, and I'm already excited to go!  At the first workshop we learned a bit about Chilean culture, and the country seems very unique and interesting.  Learning about other cultures has always intrigued me, and I'm very excited for this experience.  I've already found that some of the Chilean words and phrases are different from the Spanish that I know and have learned over the years.  Hopefully this doesn't confuse me too much if I try to talk to the locals and practice my Spanish. The Chilean food is obviously Spanish influenced, but also has its own unique touches.  I'm not too sure how I feel about avocado going onto everything, but I guess I'll have to try it before I make any judgments!  At the workshop we also had the opportunity to meet the other students who are going on the trip, and I can safely say that I'm excited to be going with this group.  I think that we're all going to have a great time together, and I hope to get to know everyone even better throughout the trip.  I think that this is a great opportunity that the university provides, and it's a good study abroad experience to prepare for even longer study abroad experiences later on.  I hope to study abroad in Europe later in my college career, and I'm sure this trip will help me get my feet wet and get a feel for what studying abroad is like.  I can't wait to learn more about Chile and its people.
